A digital notebook for teachers
EduGrade is a free web application that helps teachers manage students, their grades, and attendance in one organized place. Everything in one spot — no paper piles, no complicated spreadsheets.
The app runs entirely in the browser: on the computer in the staff room, on a tablet in class, or at home. One account is all you need — and your data is always stored securely encrypted.
EduGrade is made for …
Teachers
Whether you teach one class or multiple subjects: record grades, track attendance, and get reports at the click of a button — without spreadsheets.
Schools & Departments
EduGrade can be self-hosted on your school's own servers — full control over all data, with no dependency on external services.
Privacy-conscious users
All data is stored encrypted — not even the server operator can view student data. Ideal for GDPR-compliant schools.
What can EduGrade do?
Manage classes
Create classes and subjects, add students — individually or via list import (CSV/JSON). Everything stays neatly organized.
Record grades
Enter grades by custom categories — e.g. exams, oral participation, quizzes. Weighting and grading scales are fully customizable.
Track attendance
Record absences quickly and clearly. EduGrade automatically warns you when a student falls below the minimum attendance threshold.
Analytics & Reports
Charts and statistics show at a glance how the class is doing. Reports can be saved as PDF or printed.
Share grades securely
Students can view their own grades via a secured link — protected by a personal 6-digit PIN, with an expiry time.
On any device
EduGrade runs in the browser — on PC, laptop, tablet, and smartphone. Light and dark mode included. No installation required.
Student data, well protected
All data is stored encrypted
All student data is secured with strong encryption — right at the moment of saving. This means: even if someone were to gain unauthorized access to the server, they cannot read the data. Only those who know the correct password have access.
The principle is called Zero-Knowledge: not even the operator of the app can view the stored data. The data belongs solely to the teacher.
Automatic sign-out
After one hour of inactivity, you are automatically signed out. Ideal for computers in the classroom or shared devices.
Secure grade sharing
When students need to view their grades, they receive a personal PIN. The link expires automatically — no risk of misuse.
How can I use EduGrade?
Start directly in the browser — recommended
The easiest way: just open the app at edugrade.avocloud.net, create an account, and get started right away. No installation, no technical knowledge required.
Run on your own school server
Schools and IT departments can install and run EduGrade on their own server — for maximum control over all data. Setup instructions are available in the GitHub repository.
Back up & export data
All data can be exported and backed up at any time — as a downloadable file. No grades are ever lost, and switching servers is always possible.
Free and Open Source
AGPL-3.0 — Free to use for schools and teachers
